That’s why we focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking x-rays when necessary.

Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilisation and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Our practice has been caring for the Dental Health of the local Carina community and surrounds since 1978.

Although many things have changed over our 45 years of business, our dedication to providing our patients with the highest quality treatment will always stay the same!

Our team welcomes existing and new patients. We accept all major private health insurance funds via our convenient instantaneous electronic claiming system, known as HICAPS. We are also excited to look after patients who are eligible with the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS). Dr. Jenny Tang

Jenny grew up in New Zealand and moved across the Tasman to complete her dental training at The University of Queensland, where she graduated with first class honours.

Jenny enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and takes great pride in providing careful and comprehensive dental treatment. She has a gentle and compassionate nature, and always endeavours to create a relaxed and comfortable environment for her patients. Jenny is committed to working with patients as a team to ensure their optimal dental health, as well as helping them maintain their teeth for life.

Jenny is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast with current techniques, trends and materials.

Outside of dentistry, Jenny is a huge foodie and loves discovering new places to eat with her family and friends. She also enjoys diving into a good crime podcast to help her start the day.

Dentist

Dr. Hai Jiang

DDS Unimelb, BPharm (Hons) UQ

Dr Hai Jiang attained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Melbourne. He returned home to Queensland to work in both public and private dentistry, focusing on patient-centred care, pain-free dentistry, and advocating for preventative oral health.

Before joining the Carina Plaza Dental team, Hai worked in Queensland Health in areas of general dentistry, paediatric dentistry and general anaesthesia. He has also practiced dentistry for a not-for-profit organisation to close the gap in Indigenous health.

Hai has published multiple academic papers, and has experience as a clinical lecturer in dentistry at James Cook University. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Periodontology and is a member of the Cadmus Society and Southside dental study club. During his time in university, he was the recipient of the Australian Dental Association Student Research Prize and Queensland Dental Group Student Award.

On his days off, Hai enjoys spending time with his family and a good barbecue by the beach. He has an overly active 3-year-old who keeps him busy.

Dr. Greg Sclavos

Since graduating in 1990 at The University of Queensland, Dr Greg Sclavos has achieved an extraordinary reputation as
one of Queensland’s leading Dental Surgeons with a keen interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, oral surgery,
dental implants and wisdom tooth extractions. Greg also provides removable clear aligners for orthodontic treatment using Invisalign, Smilestyler or Suresmile depending on your needs.

Dr Greg Sclavos has been the official Dentist to the Brisbane Lions for over 10 years.
He is passionate about servicing the community and providing his patients with the best available treatment options,
ensuring their needs and concerns are fully met. With over 33 years of experience in the industry,
Dr Greg Sclavos offers his patients the comfort of knowing they are in good hands. He is also fluent in Greek.

Outside of his professional life, Greg loves spending time with his Wife, Son and especially loves his 2 French bulldogs, Pumbaa & Lil Snoop, and enjoying trips to Byron Bay.

Dr. Peter Wu

Dr Peter Wu graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University, New Zealand in 2015. After graduating, Peter has worked in New Zealand and Toowoomba, before moving to Brisbane to join Carina Plaza Dental.

Taking pride in his commitment to listen and understand the needs of every patient, Peter strives to provide the best treatment possible in every situation. Dr Wu enjoys general restorative dentistry focusing on rebuilding the patient’s smile and chewing functions. Currently he is doing a residency in orthodontics aiming to provide more comprehensive dental treatment to every patient. Peter has previously volunteered to provide dental treatments for orphanages and villages in rural Cambodia, where access to dental care is very limited.

Outside of work, Peter is passionate about playing badminton, tennis and travelling.

Dental Nurse

Emily Marc

Emily has vast experiences and skills as a dental nurse, having worked with dental specialists in the past. She has a friendly and kind nature, and always carries a smile on her face. Emily has been with Carina Plaza Dental since 2013 and is a family face to our regulars. Our patients are often amazed at how she is able to remember them!

Emily is the loving mother to her two young sons, Alexander and Oscar, and a caring wife to her husband, Ron.

Natalie is the friendly face of our front desk. She has been a valued member of our team since 2003, completing her Certificate 4 in Dental Assisting during her time. In her 20 years here, Natalie’s positive and bubbly personality has helped her developed a unique relationship with our regular patients. She loves interacting with our patients and is passionate about delivering quality service and attention.

Natalie values quality time with her husband and their son, Tommi. She loves camping and being outdoors with her beautiful Doberman, Stella.
